Gaeilge has been the native and first language of the people of Conamara for hundreds of years.

The local people of this area speak Gaeilge as it most natural to them when speaking to each other.

Many writers, poets and artists, have drawn inspiration for the cultural richness of this area and the beauty of its surroundings.

	Coláiste Lurgan is situated in Indreabhán. Our aim is to facilitate young people who wish to improve their spoken Gaeilge.

Every summer students come to Indreabhán from all over Ireland to live among its people.

Every measure is taken on the college’s part to ensure that they are made comfortable in this environment as long as they are here with us learning Gaeilge.
