Course Syllabus

The morning classes are a very important part of the cúrsa Gaeilge.  It is during these classes the students learn the Gaeilge they need to converse with each other.

The focus of the lessons is very different to that the students would be accustomed to at school as there is little emphasis on reading and writing.  The emphasis is on conversation Gaeilge.

Coláiste Lurgan's syllabus is a digital, multimedia course designed especially for the Coláiste.

The syllabus is divided into 26 sections with four lessons in each section.  We tried to have some variety in each section in terms of content but also teaching techniques.

There are three parts to the course:

• We have over one hundred multimedia lessons built for use in our morning sessions.  Each lesson has a corresponding page in the course workbook.

• The course workbook consists of 120 pages in full color.  Each page is designed to complement the multimedia lessons.  There are over one thousand images in this publication.

• Two audio CDs.  All the audio files from the course are on these CDs.  Revision can be done easily on all lessons through listening to the CDs while using the workbook.  Each student will take home their course workbook and the audio CDs on completion of a course in Coláiste Lurgan.
